Summer Skiing in Bansko (BUL)

In September 2012, the largest summer ski resort in Eastern Europe was built in the exclusive Bulgarian ski resort of Bansko. Bansko ski resort is located in the south of Bulgaria (close to the Greek border), in a magnificent nature reserve and ranges from 900 to 2500m altitude.

On almost 3000 m2 area skiers and snowboarders can start skiing fun in summer months right next to the middle station - on Slopetrax plastic mats. Skitrax World is the only manufacturer in Germany that has the know-how and production technologies to produce these plastic mats, which are used all over the world and are used in indoor and outdoor facilities all year round.

Besides the many tourists, the main users of this facility will be the regional ski clubs. The "winter sports enthusiasts" can either take the gondola or the car directly to the ski resort and can immediately start their gateway training. A perfect service is offered by the ski & ski boot rental for children and adults. From the own rental of the ski area operator Ulan AG, are available from the winter over 5000 skis and snowboard.

With a conveyor belt the sportsmen are transported to the start, then it really starts: on 100 length and nearly 30 m width is enough place around different alpine disciplines (skiing, snowboarding, Slopestyle with obstacles, jump with Big air bag and a 4er start gate for Ski crosser with ground waves) in the summer to operate. 

An attractive 100m long tubing track with 3 curves was also built right next to the ski area. These curves were built by Skitrax themselves in a short time according to construction plans with wood from the mountain railroad and own craftsmen on site. To the fast Slopetrax SP (made of PE) and HDPE tubes, different length launching areas will be provided, which will decrease or increase the speed depending on the boarding height.

Summer season will be from May to September. In October, the flexibly built system will be completely uninstalled and stored in modules. The different Skitrax mats will then be laid out at the 9 chairlifts in the entry and exit areas. This multifunctional use is cost-effective and creates a perfect use of the mats in summer and winter.
