Chairlift entrances become safer.

This winter, Kitzbühler mountain company is using LiftTrax mats for the entry and exit areas of the many chairlifts in the Pass Thurn and Jochberg areas. Colored markings show winter sports enthusiasts the way to the chairlifts. The red color clearly signals this stop area to winter sports enthusiasts.

In the Serfaus ski area, too, these new mats are used alongside the tried-and-tested Skitrax LiftTrax on chairlifts. Other mountain railroads in Europe, including La Praloup, Megeve (FRA), Oberstdorf (GER), Sierra Nevada, Valdezcaray (SPA), Himos, Jyväskylä (FIN), Rosa Khutor (RUS), Kalavrita (GRC) and many more, use the mats for safe and controlled access to chairlifts.

In cooperation with the French conveyor belt manufacturer Funbelt by Ficap, the new mats were installed in the area of the conveyor belts in various ski resorts (including Megeve and Praloup) during the winter. This enabled winter sports enthusiasts to glide safely to the conveyor belt and ski down at the exit, even in conditions of low snow accumulation. The combination of Funbelt conveyor belt and Skitrax mats will also be used in summer 2013 on some dry ski runs and tubing tracks.
