Hier ist eine Zusammenfassung von Art und Umfang der Beschneiung einer normalen Mattenskipiste zur Umwandlung zu einer Skipiste mit Schnee.
Schneekanonen oder Schneelanzen: Diese Geräte blasen bei entsprechender Temperatur Schnee auf die Piste. Behandlung wie bei einem üblichen Skigebiet mit diversen Schneelanzen.
Pistenuntergrund: Die Piste kann aus Grasboden, steinigem Boden oder unseren Kunststoffmatten (Slopetrax) bestehen. Auf den Matten kann auch in schneelosen Monaten gefahren werden.
Automatische Beschneiung: Bei Kälte aktivieren sich die Schneelanzen automatisch und beginnen mit der Beschneiung - auf die Matten.
Schneeschicht: Sobald eine Schneeschicht von ca. 15-20 cm besteht, kann der Schnee mit einem Pistengerät verteilt werden.
Pistengerät: Bei geringer Schneeschicht wird ein Pistengerät mit Gummibereifung empfohlen. Bei ca. 50 cm Schnee kann auch eine normale Pistenraupe verwendet werden.
GPS-Gerät: Mit einem GPS-Gerät auf der Pistenraupe kann das Mattenskigebiet in Breite und Schneehöhe genau markiert und geortet werden.
Frühjahrsschmelze:
Im Frühjahr, wenn die Schneeschmelze einsetzt, weiß der Fahrer der Pistenraupe dank des GPS-Geräts, wo die Mattenskipiste ist und wie hoch die Schneelage ist, um Beschädigungen der Mattenfläche zu vermeiden.
