SUSTAINABILITY

For over 17 years, we have been producing high-quality plastic systems in Bavaria – made from over 80% recycled raw materials and 100% recyclable. Innovative technologies, high-quality materials, and predominantly European supply chains stand for quality, sustainability, and global success.

Production for over 17 years - Innovations from Bavaria

We have been producing our plastic mats in Bavaria for over 17 years. We continuously research improvements and optimize our plastic processing. Our granules consist primarily of DIN-standard polyethylene and UV stabilizers, supplied by German vendors. A special blend of raw materials forms the basis of our mats, whose 2cm high studs are unbreakable and offer enormous resistance to the steel edges of skis. The individual 22x22cm mats can be connected to create large, even surfaces. The mats can also be quickly disassembled and stored on pallets, depending on whether they are intended for permanent or temporary use.

The proven 2-stud system
“ASYNCHRONOUS TWIN PIN SYSTEM” (ATPS)Guaranteed fast gliding. Varying knob heights create a smaller contact area and reduced friction, while maintaining excellent tracking stability. 50% less contact area for skis, snowboards, and tubing results in the fastest gliding. 20 mm firm knobs offer perfect stability when carving.

Regarding microplastic abrasion, there's a simple rule of thumb: the higher the friction (between the ski base and the mats), the greater the heat generated, and the greater the abrasion. Conversely, the lower the friction, the lower the abrasion. On the mat ski slope in the children's ski area at the Hocheck ski resort in Oberaudorf, beginners to slightly advanced children ski. Since the speed is extremely low, virtually no abrasion is generated. To further reduce this minimal abrasion, we use our biodegradable eco-friendly lubricant.Slide Liquidone. The plant-based lubricant contains No silicone and certified environmentally friendly Incidentally, the suppliers of the lubricant produced in Germany are predominantly German farmers.

Should the mat ski slope be used even in the height of summer with strong sunlight, for example at +40 degrees Celsius, we offer an environmentally friendly solution. Natural cooling is achieved through the installation of a water sprinkler system beneath the mats. A flat, thin water pipe is laid across the slope at wider intervals and, as needed, equipped with small nozzles that have a spray angle of almost 2 meters each. This system, proven in many facilities, significantly reduces friction. The pre-applied lubricant, Slide Liquid, is viscous, adheres to the nubs, and is water-repellent. The water then runs off the nubs, is collected via a drainage system, cleaned, and pumped back to the starting point. This ensures a closed water circuit.

The minimal amount of micro-abrasion falls onto a rough-fibered drainage fleece installed beneath the mats and remains there between the diamond-shaped sections until the end of the winter season. It is then vacuumed up and disposed of/recycled normally at the recycling center. It is not considered hazardous waste. If the facility is used in the autumn, the plan is to vacuum up and dispose of any abrasion early, depending on the intensity of use. This ensures that there is no risk to local waterways and creates a closed-loop recycling system.

We offer our customers a sustainable, environmentally friendly, closed-loop production system. After a usage period of approximately 10-15 years, the mats can be returned to us in Germany (or to other European depots). There, they are cleaned and the plastic is reused for new production, such as new Skitrax mats! We provide comprehensive documentation about this process.
